BUNDALEEReports! ...and "Fuzzy Logic" on Cape Cod!

This just in! Live newsfeed! After an exciting international week visiting "merry olde England," Bundaleer has just touched down briefly in Chicago!

He reported back that he got a little homesick when he saw those nearby Quantas airplanes.

However, he said he's also eager to return to New York and just "hang out" for a while. He probably hasn't gotten much sleep lately. And for good reasons!

Koalas enjoy sleeping! They like to get 18 hours of sleep each day.

However, when there are adventures to be had, koalas can't always fall asleep. That's when the fun begins!

-----------

Following is the fourth chapter in the "Fuzzy Logic" series. This time, Bundaleer, Scoopy and Inky hit Cape Cod!

After yesterday in Rhode Island, we were excited to visit Massachusetts. I like railroads but at this station I was confused.

I asked the station man where to get one of the sandwiches. He said there were no sandwiches here. So I showed him this big sign.

He laughed and said, Silly little koala, that's the name of the town!

OH! I looked at the ground and swallowed hard. I quietly confessed that I usually studied my map each morning...but today I forgot...

Fortunately, he wasn't mad. He just cheerfully suggested another place for sandwiches: the boardwalk in Sandwich!

Whew! I was relieved!

At first, we enjoyed reading many people's names on each plank of the boardwalk.

But that was taking too long. And we three hungry animals needed to reach the real sandwich area! So we caught a lift down to the far end of the boardwalk -- and a return lift, too!

At my next opportunity, I studied the Cape Cod map very hard. Now I knew where I was again!

Later that afternoon, we played on the beach. Can you guess what we pretended to be here? Drifters!

The next place we were going to visit was the Mayflower ship in Plymouth, MA. It got me thinking about pilgrims...

Were Scoopy, Inky and I like pilgrims? We were heading into unfamiliar territory together... What else did it mean to be a pilgrim?

I thought about these questions all evening. I hoped maybe I could answer my own questions tomorrow at the famous Plimoth Plantation.

Fuzzy Logic Continues to: Rhode Island

This is the third posting in Bundaleer's Fuzzy Logic series.

After a good night's sleep, we three musketeers ventured out early to Providence, Rhode Island.

Here I practiced my "news anchor" pose in front of the Rhode Island's stately capitol building.

Some morning commuters slowed down to ogle and squint at this small reporting team. We felt big.

A passing Rhode Islander told us of another important place: a nearby factory that makes cheesecakes. For historical reasons, we checked it out.

Wow, they really were experts at cheesecake! This began to look like a good "brekkie " spot for us, and so we eagerly sampled many of their tasty specialties.

Filled up as we were, we then took a pleasant digestion break at Providence Waterplace Park.

After a nap, we hitched a ride to Newport.

Here we realized that we would need great willpower to resist the local seafood specialties.

I must admit we lost that battle and allowed ourselves a very tiny seafood snack for lunch.

But then it was back to exercising . . .

The guidebook recommended a cliff walk in Newport so off we went to the starting point.

Here we experienced a very funny story! Unfortunately, this one is without pictures!

An elderly American couple was watching our seaside photo session in Newport.

Scoopy explained to them that, a few years ago, I had moved to the US from Australia. And that my mates back home wanted to see pictures of my walkabouts here.

Scoopy also added that he and Inky were visiting from Germany.

I could see right away that this couple did not know what to think of this talking international animal trio.

Well, they slowly produced uncertain, but not impolite, smiles...

. . . and then they hurried away from us as fast as Olympic athletes!

Sometimes explaining ourselves helps us - and sometimes it doesn't.

Back in our motel, we had a pretty big spread...

. . . and I eased my sore koala muscles by having a warm relaxing bath and my very own "stubby."

(Don't worry, after a koala turns one, he is old enough for one beer.)

I was not surprised when Inky and Scoopy asked if they could each have a sip of my beer.

Then I remembered the motto of the real Three Muskateers: "All for One and One for All !"

And so of course my answer was - YES !

And we shared that one little stubby just as happily as we shared almost everything else on our special New England trip!

Fuzzy Logic Heads to: Block Island, CT

This is the second posting in the Fuzzy Logic series.
________________________________

The next day, we boarded the ferry to Block Island, which is part of the state of Rhode Island.

During the ferry ride, Scoopy and Inky enjoyed water games alongside the boat (just the two of them). A shipmate took this picture right before the two happily hopped overboard.

As for me, I stayed dry, and eagerly awaited their arrival at nearby First Beach.

Scoopy said we simply HAD to see the Southeast Lighthouse, and so we did.

Inky said he found a nice strip of coastline with pebbles for us to play with, and so we did that too.

Thank goodness for Inky's many arms! With them, we were able to build a very tall tower!

Later, we came upon the meditation session of a baby seal. We were very curious about this, but did not want to interrupt his concentration.

Scoopy then discovered Block Island's North Lighthouse. There I tried to catch a quick nap. Unfortunately, it was too bright and prickly for me.

Then, Scoopy tried to scare me with some leftovers from his recent catch! But, coming from Australia, even this impressive fellow couldn't scare me.

In NY, Julie taught me how to ride a bike. So I taught Scoopy and Inky! We three zoomed all across the island on our fine metal horses!

Back at Port Judith, we visited yet another lighthouse. I tried to look happy in this picture but I guess I was becoming a little tired...

Fortunately, it was time after that to buy some key provisions. (This is always exciting for an Aussie!)

After this adventurous day, we could hardly stay awake in our cozy sleep sack. Scoopy fell asleep first -- then Inky, then me -- to sweet Block Island dreams.
