Fuzzy Logic Heads to: Connecticut!

If you love New England AND koalas, then you will definitely enjoy Bundaleer's next postings!

Our German friends went above and beyond to document the recent adventures of Bundaleer in New England. Thanks to this extraordinary effort, I expect to update the blog about twice a week every week in June.

And so, to B. & T., for your spirit, creativity and terrific sense of humor: a heartfelt Vielen Dank!

And to our readers: Enjoy, Mates! And now... here's Bundaleer's first "Fuzzy Logic" posting!

Hi, this is Bundaleer and, as Julie already indicated, I went together with my new friends, Scoopy and Inky, for a very long New England walkabout! Here is the story of our great adventures!

Inky is an octopus and Scoopy is a pelican. Both animals are actually New York expats that now live in Hamburg, Germany. And actually, they live with a very nice couple, B. & T., who visited Ben and Julie quite recently in New York.

After all of us got acquainted in NYC, the idea came up for a walkabout which I hadn´t done for some time. It´s always nice to know some locals who can really show you the places of interest – especially when they are same-sized locals like Inky and Scoopy!

I did not feel too bad about leaving Julie and Ben for several days as they had their German visitors. So we three adventurous boys took off quite early on a Saturday to avoid crowds.

Our first stop was in New Haven, CT where we got some informational material and some maps. We visited Yale University and were invited to participate in a course at their famous School of Drama.

After so much early excitement, Inky and Scoopy needed a (water-oriented) break and we spent a while resting at the beach near Lighthouse Point.

We continued along the coast and passed some nice little villages, among them Pattagansett Harbour.

Here was where we decided to hitch some rides every now and then. When not walking actively, we did some planning of the next places to go. I must admit that sometimes I felt a bit homesick as all my travels so far were with Ben & Julie. But my new mates made sure that my homesickness never lasted long...

We continued on to Stonington, CT where we visited the Old Lighthouse Museum. (Scoopy is VERY fond of lighthouses, as I soon found out!)

We slid along the hood of an "Old Timer"...

... and then it was time for another break at some peaceful "water-y" point.

Later that afternoon, we decided we would visit Block Island the following day. That´s why we hitched a ride next up to Port Judith, RI where we spent the night at a campground ...

... and had a small dinner. Inky and Scoopy both had bought a cask of wine. When I remarked that maybe we should not start drinking before 5 p.m., Inky said that at some place on this planet it is definitely AFTER 5 p.m. And that´s what counts.

To such an argument I had no reply, and therefore it was a funny night and we became very good buddies indeed!
